Arizona

So, I'm a little slow with keeping up with what is going on, but I thought I'd finally post at least one photo from our Thanksgiving trip to AZ. Pictures never do a sunset justice, but I had to share it. Watching the sunset over the desert made me want to chase the sun. Loved it!

Family Pictures

We had some family pictures taken a couple weeks ago. Here are some of my favorites. There are so many great ones of Isaac. I sometimes can't belive such a gosh darn cute boy is ours.

Halloween

So, Isaac dressed up as a garden gnome this year. I made the hat, suspenders and shoes, so they are not as good as they could be, but I had fun doing it. Here are a few pictures...
This is at our wards trunk or treat, he kept his hat on for a little bit because I think he was annoyed at the rain.
Here he is getting in the candy bowl. He has not had too much sugar in the past, but now that he has tried it, he of course can't get enough.

This is what happened most every time I tried to get a full body picture of the boy.

At last, success!

Here is one more that I liked where you can see the whole outfit. The only problem was his shoe cover was on crooked. Oh well, Maybe I can fix up the hat a little better and dress him up as a Chistmas elf later this year. We'll see.

Hide and Seek

We've been playing hide and seek a little today. I'm not sure he really grasps the concept yet, but he sure has fun "hiding".

Update

So about a week and a half ago we got together with Matt's side of the family for a family reunion at out timeshare in Wolfcreek. It was a lot of fun! Here are a few pictures of what we have been up to.

This is Isaac touching (even though he wasn't supposed to) the T-Rex. He liked seeing all the dinosaours. While on this little excursion, we learned about that Utah has an official state dinosaur, the allosaurus.

It looks like Isaac is about to smack Matt on the head, but really, he was exited to be so high and able to touch all the dinosaurs in the park.

His favorite attraction seemeed to be the vegitation and ropes. Any time we set him down, he'd be running straight for it.

On Saturday we went to Pineview Resivoir and hung out on the suprisingly sandy beaches. Doesn't Isaac look like a redneck with that hat on and his shorts sliding down?

We got out on a raft and paddled around and had the boy in a life vest. He wasn't too fond of wearing it, can you tell?

New Art

I just bought this, this and this print at the state fair from our friend Melonie Packer. She has some great stuff. I highly recommend checking out her booth at the fair this weekend, and if you can't make it, check out her site.

I know... I've been out of th blogsphere for a while. What can I say? Life just keeps going. I haven't been up to much other than the day in, day out of being a homemaker. I did get a winsheild wonder in the mail yesterday, and I'm excited to try it out as soon as I can pry it out of Isaac's hands. That kid has quite the death grip when he wants something. He's so stubborn. I really have no idea where he gets it from... okay maybe I do. It's totally from his dad...

I Love My Boys

Matt got his trumpet out a few weeks back and Isaac was fascinated with it. I love my boys
These photos are from last month when Scott got married. Natalie came and stayed with me for a little bit of her trip. We are so excited for Scott. Here he is with all the neices and nephews plus a couple of Valerie's friend's kids. Oh, and I gues Eli isn't there either.

Here is Isaac and Natalie eating dinner. Isaac just kept staring at her while she was talking. It was good to have him a bit distracted, because I was able to get him to eat a more regular sized meal for a kid his size. Thanks Nat! It was fun to have you here.

Isaac's First Birthday Party

My baby is a year old! I can't believe it's been a year already but in some ways it seems he's always been in the family. I decided to do a monkey theme since Isaac loves his stuffed monkey, and picks things up with his feet. It seemed fitting. Since the whole cupcake cake thing was too advanced for me, I decided to make monkey cupcakes. You may be wondering why I did some frowning faces, the only real reason is I thought it would be funny to give those ones to anyone who was late or unhappy.

He seemed confused when we were all singing to him.

He got the hang of eating the cupcake super fast. He devoured it.

Here is a little video for those who want to see...

Tulip Festival

We went to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point last night and it was super busy, but fun. Here are some of my amature pictures I took.
Some tulips...
The famous brial spot. I must admit, I am a huge fan of wrought iron. I think it's so classic.

Isaac didn't really like us sitting him on the grass, he kept trying to get up on his toes and hands, but he never got both hands down for long. He kept looking at his hand with a disgusted look on his face. I guess he isn't a fan of grass and pine needles. Imagine that.

Matt tried to get him to pose, but this is all that we could get him to do.

I tried a little while later, without much success.

He did finally decide that the flowers might be fun to touch.

I like the contrast of his "I'm on the verge of being upset" face with the pretty flowers.

I took this one as we were leaving. I didn't know they had so many water features there.

I messed with my camera for a while to get this shot. I didn't know I could get it to focus so closely and still look ok. I was pretty excited. Ask my husband, he probably was sick of me taking pictures of this tree.
Spring is really here in Utah and I love it! ... well at least until tomorrow when it's supposed to snow again. It wouldn't be Spring in Utah without a couple of snow storms, right?

Crawling

Isaac is crawling now. This is the best video I could get. He's so super cute! He started moving forward when we put my back scratcher in front of him. Weird motivation, but it worked.

First Hair Cut

Here are some before and after shots of Isaac's first hair cut. My neighbor is a hair stylist and wanted to know if I needed her services, so I went over there a couple of weeks ago and she finally got rid of that crazy comb-over look on the boy. I think he looks much more handsome with his new hair cut.

Here is the face he had the whole time his hair was getting cut. He looks a little bit scared

I much prefer his hair all the same lenghth. Man I love my little man!

Dear Internet,

What makes someone interesting? Is it the stories they tell, or what they do? How they live. Does being interesting cost money? What is it? Thoughts?

100 Years Old and Still Going Strong

This is my piano. It was given to us at no charge. I really like the sound of the older pianos, I always have. And now I have one of my very own. If I decide to get ambitious, one of these days I may take on the task of refinishing it....maybe.

One of my goals for this year is to practice the piano enough so that if need be, people might be able to sing along with me. Part of this practice includes Matt singing along while I play, when he is in town that is. So far... well, it's been interesing. I refuse to let the piano get the best of me. Off I go to practice.

It wasn't me!

Yesterday I heard a crash behind me as I was cleaning in the kitchen and I turned around to find this scene. He looks completly innocent right? Good thing I had just taken out the trash.

Isaac's First Christmas

It was pretty fun to see Isaac opening his presents. I didn't expect him to be super excited about anything besides the wrapping paper which was mostly true with the exception of his new toy truck. We had a wonderful Christmas Morning. It is so much more fun having a little one to entertain us.

Here he is looking excited about his truck...

And here he is trying to eat the wrapping paper....

This picture he looks like he is excited for his keys, but I think it's mostly cuz he likes to smile at the camera. I think we may have a ham on our hands.
