Christmas Update

Below is a shot of these really yummy cake balls. I'm not really sure what you call them. I made them for my neighbors this year, and I gotta say, since this is my first time doing the whole dipping in chocolate thing, what a freaking lot of work! They are really good, but I don't know how often I'll be doing them. They did turn out really well though. I just wanted to show you all that I can be domestic every once in a while. Don't you wish you were my neighbor?

I bought Isaac a little suit for Christmas and the shirt is super small, so I thought I better get a picture of him in it. Matt and Isaac wore their suits to church on Sunday and were all matchy matchy. I'm not gonna lie, I kind of loved it.

Our Little Monkey

Here are the long awaited (by some) pictures of Isaac in his Halloween costume. He was a monkey. I never did get a perfect shot of him in the outfit. We had him holding his stuffed monkey just in case people didn't know what the outfit was supposed to be.

Here he is waiting for all the festivities to begin.

Sitting with Grandpa Jensen

Grandma really wanted a picture of Isaac holding her Boo decoration. This one is for you mom. I think he just wanted to fit it into his mouth.

Here he is at the trunk or treat with Matt. He was fascinated by all the different people walking by in their various costumes.

Our Anniversary

Here are some pictures from our little overnight anniversary trip up to Wolf Creek. It's been two years already! Time flies. We had a good time. And even though it was a strange feeling not to have Isaac with us, it was really nice to be able to sleep in.

I am not a huge fan of any picture taken of me, but I thought I should probably include some of me since I was there. So here we are.

The rest are just some pictures of us at Pineview Resivoir skipping rocks and just enjoying the view. Sorry if it is picture overload.

The Boy

I just had to post this picture. He is almost sitting up by himself... okay, so he falls over a little bit if left on his own too long. He is on his way. I have to say, being home with him is an adjustment. It's only been a few days, and even though he has had a bad cold for most of that time, I know why people say it is the best job in the world. I love being a mom.

Recap...

I know I've been a huge slacker and haven't kept up on blogging as I should have. So, below you will see some pictures of stuff that went on a while back.

Here is Isaac chillin' with his aunt Natalie when she came to visit. I love the look on his face.

Here is my little sister Amber and her son Eli. They came back in August and it was so fun to see that chunky kid. He's super cute and pretty heavy. I don't know how my sister lugs him around.

Me and Natalie. She stayed with me when she came to visit in August.

It was fun to have Eli and Isaac get to know each other. I'm not too sure that Isaac will remember, but Eli really liked touching him. The two are 7 months apart. Look at the difference between the size of their hands. It's cute.

Here is Isaac in his car seat just this past weekend. He is so much happier when he isn't sitting back there all by himself. I think he may grow up to be a social child.

Slow...

So, I am trying to find more than exactly 60 seconds to post some pictures. Maybe tomorrow. We are alive and well, and things are good. I am finally leaving my job. My last day is the 30th. Maybe I'll be a better blogger once I am not constantly rushing to be on time, and leaving a mess behind to clean up in my spare time.

Camping with Isaac went very well. He slept for 8 hours straight Friday night! I couldn't believe it. I was actually a little worried when he didn't wake up after about 3 hours. I'm just happy he wasn't screaming all night long. What a good little baby boy. Now I know that it can be done, and will likely venture out into the great outdoors with him again. Sadly I forgot to bring our camera so we don't have any pictures.

Just Another Day in Paradise

Here is a little update for all you readers. This is the newest family picture. I kept trying really hard to get Isaac to look in the direction of the camera and this was the best shot we were able to get. Perhaps I'll have to have the pictures taken by a professional before too long.

Isaac really dreads bath time. He usually screams the whole time, which is kind of hard to handle now that he cries real tears. I never knew until I had my own child that they don't actually tear up when they cry right at first. It come after a couple weeks. Seeing those tears flowing down those tiny cheeks can be a real heart breaker.

Isaac has had cradle cap pretty bad, so I have to keep greasing up his hair so it doesn't get too dry. When I comb through it after lathering the lotion on his head it acts as great hair gel. I love this picture, I call it "The calm before the storm".

In other news: we are heading out camping this weekend for the first time since having the baby. It should be interesting. I hope he is able to sleep okay since we will be in a camper with two other couples. I figure that since one of the couples also is bringing a little one that they will not be too annoyed when he cries at night.

The New Arrival

So, in case you haven't heard, Isaac Matthew Printy was born on May 10, 2009 at 10:27 PM (only 23 1/2 hours of labor) weighing 7 lbs. 2 oz. I seriously cannot believe that I am a mom now. It is a little overwhelming, but I am so excited to have our little baby boy here. I will be even more excited when he learns to sleep through the night so I can get some sleep, but I'm not holding my breath that that will happen anytime soon. It is already getting easier to get up with him after a couple of weeks though, I guess it does get easier like people say it does.

Here is our new family just hours after the little guy showed up. I look totally gross and swollen, but it's history in the making, no time to spruce up.

Here he is looking cute with his binky at the hospital.

The newest family picture

And Isaac smiling, granted, it was probably gas, but I'll take it anyway.

All in all, I'd say that giving birth is one of the strangest experiences I've ever had, but totally amazing and worth it when you get to meet your child for the first time.

Hair

I have an appointment to cut my hair tomorrow and I'm so excited! I don't even remember the last time I had my hair cut. Now all I need is the perfect style. Maybe I'll shock everyone and chop most of it off. I need something different. Any suggestions?

Gestational Diabetes

This little thing is what I will be using to check my glucose levels four times a day. I am so not excited about this! Anyone who knows me knows that I do not do well with this kind of thing. In fact delivery should be interesting. I'm super bummed and afraid. And with the diet plan I've been put on, I'm afraid I will be starving and be onry because of it for the rest of my pregnancy. Lousy!

Some late Christmas Photos

Here we have all of my nieces and nephews of my family. The newest edition is the chunko on the far left on the lap of Chamberlain. The kid is 3 months old and 18 pounds in this picture. I told my sister that I wouldn't keep calling him a chunko, but until he grows a bit taller with all of that weight, it's going to stick. It was really good to see my sisters Amber and Natalie over Christmas. I was a slacker and didn't get pictures of the three of us together, so you get to look at the kids. Plus, I don't feel like I am very photogenic at the moment being pregnant.

This is a picture that Matt took when we visited Temple Square. Isn't he good? I think so. Now if only we could learn how to hold still so the pictures are not so fuzzy.

This is our Christmas tree that we had to go and buy a new tree stand for. It was so big that it didn't fit into our old one. The trunk base was about 7 inches across. We had loads of fun getting that into the house and all decorated. It was 8 feet tall and we ran out of lights about half way down so had to buy some more before finishing the decorating process. Maybe next year we should use a fake, pre-lit tree.

So, our Christmas was good and hectic. I am really glad to have things back to normal. All the Christmas stuff is put away and it life as usual. Well, as usual as it can be I guess. I am totally freaking out that it is already January and we haven't made any real preparations for the little peanut to arrive. I have to say that I am scared to death of the birthing process! I am handling pregnancy fine. I have not had to deal with morning sickness or anything too severe. My biggest complaint at this point is that my feet and hands are so swollen that they hurt a bit and various limbs fall asleep when I sleep on my side. It's pretty awesome. We need a name and a lot of drugs for the delivery and we should be set.
